Subi Taba is an Agricultural Development Officer and a celebrated writer and poet from Arunachal Pradesh. An alumnus of the School of Agricultural Sciences Medziphema Campus, Nagaland University, she has a Master’s Degree in Olericulture. As an Agricultural Development Officer, she works on rural development and sustainable agricultural initiatives across East Kameng, Pakke Kessang and Papum Pare districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
Alongside her career in Agriculture, Subi has established herself as a writer and poet, exploring themes of folklore, memory and the deep relationship between land and people. Her debut fiction work, Tales from the Dawn-Lit Mountains, published by Penguin Random House, has been widely acclaimed. The book won the Legacy of Literature Award in 2025 and was recently shortlisted for the Ramnath Goenka Sahitya Samman 2025, earning recognition for its lyrical storytelling and evocative portrayal of Arunachal Pradesh’s landscapes and cultures.
Subi continues to balance her role as an Agricultural Development Officer with her literary pursuits, drawing inspiration from the hills, rivers and communities she engages with. She remains an active and influential voice in contemporary Indian literature.
