LATE DR. K. KIRE

Late Keyiekhrie Kire, hailing from Kohima Village was born on 01-11-1961 to Shri. Mhiehu Kire & Shri. Chalieü Kire. He was married to Shri. Ketseibou (Winifred) Kire and blessed with four children- two boys and two girls.

He completed his early schooling from Christ King School, Kohima and passed his matriculation from Don Bosco School, Kohima. He obtained his B.Sc. (Agriculture) degree from College of Agriculture (NEHU), Medziphema in 1983. He worked briefly for a year as Assistant Soil Conservation Officer under Soil & Water Conservation Department, Nagaland. He pursued further studies in the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, where he completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Soil Science.

He joined the Indian Forest Service (IFS) in 1991 under AGMUT cadre. Over a period of nearly 30 years of service, 9-10 years each of active service was rendered in the states of Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. He had the privilege to hold a wide range of assignments, namely, DFO, Planning Officer, Working Plan Officer, Conservator of Forests, Chief Conservator of Forests, Additional PCCF. He retired as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh in October 2021.

He breathed his last on 22.09.2024, after a prolonged illness.
